Scope
Patios and hardscapes, Retaining and seat walls, Plantings and landscape lighting

A curved paver terrace with a compass rose inlay, running out to a lit seat wall at the water's edge.

A waterfront site gives you one obvious thing to design towards, so everything here curves to face it. The seat wall follows the shoreline rather than cutting across it, and the pillars at each end carry lanterns that mark the edge after dark.

The compass rose inlay in the paving is the one decorative move on the whole terrace, set on the axis of the view. Everything else is deliberately quiet: a single paver blend, a consistent joint, and a border course that follows the curve without a visible cut.

Lighting is built into the seat wall face rather than added on top, washing the paving and leaving the water dark. Beds are edged and mulched behind the wall so nothing crowds the seating.
